CHANGE was delighted to welcome the Minister for Disabled People, Jonathan Shaw to spend time visiting us in September. 

Jonathan Shaw visited CHANGE to learn more about the great work we do and how we employ people with learning disabilities on proper salaries to co-run projects.

Jonathan said:  “I was hugely impressed with the work CHANGE are doing and it has been a real eye-opener for me to find out about the experiences that people with learning disabilities have had, good and bad. It has left me clear about focusing on what people can do in all aspects of life.”

People with learning disabilities from CHANGE said:

“Sometimes when we meet someone who is official they tend to not want to spend time with people with learning disabilities but Jonathan Shaw treated us as equals.

“We felt listened to and valued for our knowledge and experience.

“We look forward to working more with the Government for the rights of people with learning disabilities”.
